On 14th November 2023, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration announced an intention to review fees, charges, and levies concerning SDICS services in the Kenya Gazette. After a period of public participation from 14th November to 5th December 2023, the revised charges were set to take effect from 1st January 2024, pending implementation.

As outlined in the Kenya Gazette Vol CXXV No. 241, dated 14 November 2023, the revised fees, charges, and levies are officially in effect as of 1 March 2024.
